Toll House Jewellery is a family run business founded in 1980 by Ian Moodie who began his career as a working jeweller in 1968. He started in the family business, T.S. Moodie Ltd of Halifax, which was owned by his parents Tommy and Margaret Moodie.

Ian and Jean Moodie have successfully run the Toll House for 28 years, and now daughter Nicola has recently joined the company, making it third generation in the jewellery business.

Toll house is situated in the heart of Yorkshire, in the village of Ripponden, which divides Lancashire and Yorkshire.

Why are we called Toll House?
The building was built in 1798 and in the 1700’s and 1800’s the building was used as a toll house. This was where money was collected at the building from travellers to pass through in their various vehicles – for example : stagecoaches, cattle, and wagons which would then pay for improvements in the local road system.

At Toll House we have a reputation for quality and craftsmanship, welcoming customers nationally and internationally throughout our 27 years of business.

We offer a bespoke jewellery service and commissions, as well as repairs, and retail.

Our in store sales representatives can help and advise you on your purchases, whether you are buying for someone else, or simply treating yourself.

We have a enviable collection of unique gifts, which can be hand engraved to offer an element of personalisation which will transform your beautiful gift into something really special.
